MILBY_When you think about an assessment testing your common knowledge and skills you’d think it would be very easy. Not if the simplest of questions was written in a maze-like way. The SATs are a set of questions that are pretty simple. The part where you struggle is when you’re trying to understand what the questions are asking you but can’t figure it out since they’re written like a tongue twister… for your brain.

The Milby High School Juniors took the 2014 SAT Test just yesterday and although I’d expect a whole lot of whining but the majority of the students felt confident with their potential results. Especially the students who had the SAT-Prep class with Mrs. Pakoejoe, it felt like an everyday routine.

The SAT-Prep class is designed to help students understand what the SAT is composed of, to teach them small skills that’d be very helpful to them when it comes to taking the test. The class itself isn’t difficult if you pay attention and stay up to date on the class work. Plus it’s self beneficial, if you take it in high school you won’t need to take it later in your college years.

It exposes you to material that you’d think you’d never need to know but is actually essential in your life and future plans. You get the opportunity to visit college campuses and learn about what you need to do in order to reach your goals. You get to think about what you want to do when you grow up, what kind of future you want, what kind of things you’ll have to known to get where you want to.

The teacher advises you into thinking about your future, which most of us really don’t think about because we just put that on the “to–do” list when we should start now and make a life plan. You’ll get the help you need as long as you accept it and nurture it into something bigger.
